Nara Bath Stool

The Nara Bath Stool doesn't just look good in the bathroom but can be utilised as a feature in any room in the house.

The stool features my interpretation of a Japanese technique called 'Naguri', where small scallops are made in the wood by hand using a gouge chisel. The traditional technique is complimented by the centuries old wedged through tenon joints and sharp, squared edges on the top.

Made from reclaimed messmate, the Nara Bath Stool measures 350mm wide, 250mm deep and 350mm high. Can be made to custom dimensions. It is finished in a water resistant hardwax oil, which is durable and easy to repair, whilst showing the true character of the grain.
